Terms of use

DRAFT for legal review. Prepared by the Faring team from how the product works; not yet reviewed by a lawyer and not yet binding. Last edited 10 October 2026.

1. What Faring is

Faring is an iPhone app and a service for planning trips with a group. These terms apply between you and the company named at the end (“we”) when you use the app, the service or this website.

2. The beta

Faring is in a private beta. Access is by invitation. It is free during the beta. Things may change, break or be removed between builds, and we may end the beta or your access to it at any time. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; the export in Settings exists for that.

3. Your account

You need an account to open Faring. Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us if you think it has been used by someone else. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Accounts are for adults.

4. Your content and your group

What you put into a trip stays yours. You give us the permission needed to store it, show it to the members of the trip according to their roles, and process it as the privacy policy describes. You are responsible for having the right to add what you add, including other people’s names and the documents you upload. Only add people to a trip who would expect to be there.

The Organizer and Co-organizers of a trip decide who is a member and what role they have. If you leave or your account is deleted, your contributions remain with the trip, attributed to a former member.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Faring to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, to upload malware, to scrape or overload the service, or to try to get at trips you are not a member of. We may suspend an account that does.

6. Assistants

If you connect an assistant, it acts on your behalf with your own role, and you are responsible for what it does with your confirmation. Your assistant’s provider has its own terms for the data it handles.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will be available at every moment. The app keeps working from what is on your phone when the service is not reachable. We may change or discontinue features; we will say so in the app or on this website.

8. Ending

You can delete your account at any time from Settings (see delete your account). We may close an account that breaks these terms or that the law requires us to close. On closure, the deletion process in the privacy policy applies.

9. Disclaimers and liability

[Legal review: warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability appropriate to the jurisdiction and to a free beta; consumer-law carve-outs.] Faring organizes information you and your group entered. It does not verify bookings with providers, does not guarantee times, prices or availability, and is not a travel agent or a booking service.

10. Intellectual property

Faring, the Faring name, lettermark and wordmark, and the app and service are ours. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for planning your trips while these terms apply.

11. Apple

[Legal review: the App Store minimum terms for third-party apps, where applicable, including that Apple is not responsible for the app or for support.]

12. Governing law and contact

[Legal review: governing law, venue, company name and address.]
